Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) is facing another blow as their star forward, Kylian Mbappe, has firmly stated his refusal to sign a contract extension with the club. Despite his existing deal running until 2024, which includes an option for an additional year, the 24-year-old has expressed his lack of interest in remaining at PSG beyond 2024.
Renowned transfer expert, Fabrizio Romano, revealed this development, hinting that Mbappe's decision could prompt PSG to consider offloading the player. One club with a longstanding interest in the talented forward is Real Madrid.
Romano took to Twitter to convey the news, stating, "Kylian Mbappe has informed PSG of his decision: he'll NOT trigger the option to extend his current contract until 2025, meaning the deal would expire in June 2024 as reported by L'Équipé. PSG's stance: they have no intention of letting Kylian leave without compensation. Either he signs a new deal now or he could be sold."
Should PSG fail to convince Mbappe to commit to a new contract, it would mark the second high-profile departure from the club this summer, following Lionel Messi's departure as a free agent.
